The sectoral indices led by Healthcare, Consumer Durables, Auto, Oil
& Gas, Power, Realty, Capital Goods and Bankex gained by up to 1.08
per cent.
While, IT, Teck, Metal and FMCG declined by up to 1.19 pc.
Major gainers were Yes Bank (by 5.49 pc), Asian Paints (by 3.79 pc),
Adani Ports & SEZ (by 3.49 pc), Sun Pharma (by 2.32 pc) and Hero
MotoCorp (by 2.04 pc).
Top losers were Bharti Airtel (by 2.45 pc), State Bank of India (by
1.27 pc), Tata Steel (by 1.23 pc), ITC (by 1.04 pc) and Vedanta (by
0.52 pc).
Index heavyweight Reliance Industries dropped 1.55 pc to Rs 1,093.35.
Index heavyweight and IT major, Infosys, lost 2.15 pc to Rs 661.45.
GAIL shed 1.85 pc.
IT stocks ended mixed. Tech Mahindra (by 1.14 pc), MindTree (by 1.81
pc) and Hexaware Technologies (by 2.26 pc), edged higher.
While, Wipro (by 0.15 pc), TCS (by 1.70 pc), Oracle Financial
Services Software (by 0.14 pc) and HCL Technologies (by 0.07 pc),
edged lower.
Mphasis climbed 1.68 pc after the company announced on Thursday
acquisition of Stelligent Systems LLC, a technology services company
specialising in DevOps automation on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Majesco rose 0.44 pc after the compaany announced on Thursday that
PT PFI Mega Life Insurance (PFI Mega Life), the joint venture life
insurance company of Prudential Financial Inc and CT Corpora, has
selected Majesco Policy for life & annuities and group along with a
point of sale and activity management solution specifically used
within the Asia-Pacific region.
