Budget stresses on affordable housing is welcome

Chennai, July 5 (UNI) Sundaram Home Finance MD Srinivas Acharya on Friday termed the Union budget as pro housing sector with clear emphasis on affordable housing.
The extra tax benefit on interest on loan for affordable housing was most welcome, he said in a release.
It will not only push sales, but also help in reduction of the unsold inventory.
Besides, the Government has also earmarked funds for housing under the PMAY scheme. ''This is
a positive development and is likely to drive up the sentiment'', he added.
