Panaji, Nov 8 (UNI) Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on Friday said that budget session of Parliament this year was most productive after 1952.
Addressing state lawmakers at Goa Legislative Assembly on 'Role of Parliament in the Doctrine of Separation of Powers: Enhancing Transparency and Accountability', he said,"Since 1952, the most number of legislations were passed. Most of the legislations were passed unanimously and there was fair discussion, despite agreements and disagreements. As a result of which, the faith of the people of India in Parliament has increased. I urge that every state assembly, should look to increase the people's faith in the House."
The Speaker said he had put in efforts to ensure that democratic values of the parliament were strengthened and there was constructive debate and discussion in it which was biggest temple of democracy having representatives of 130 crore people.
