BSP stands affirm on NRC issue: Mayawati

Lucknow, Dec 8 (UNI) After opposing Citizenship Amendment Bill, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Supremo Mayawati here on Sunday said that without gaining power at Center along with Uttar Pradesh development of Dalit and Muslims cannot be secured.

Addressing the party unit review meeting here, Ms Mayawati said that Baba Saheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar had believed that without gaining power at Center and states, development of Dalits, tribal, other backward classed, Muslims and unprivileged cannot be secured.

She said that people from these community should come together and gain power by voting BSP. She alleged that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government was failed to provide relief from poverty, crime, atrocities against women and diseases.

Speaking about increasing atrocities against women, Ms Mayawati said that rampant incident of such crime was reason to worry. She said that government should control the situation immediately.

She said that Central and state governments should work together to deal with the situation. She said that public needs actions rather fake promises.
