BSP if voted to power will give cash instead of mobiles, laptops in UP: Mayawati announces on b'day

Lucknow, Jan 15 (UNI) Appealing to the people of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Punjab to give her birthday gift by voting for the party in the Assembly elections, Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati today rolled out several sops for the people of Uttar Pradesh if her party is voted to power and even announced that she will give cash instead of mobile phones and laptops. "BSP Government if comes to power in UP would prefer to give cash instead of mobile phones and laptops. Besides, employment will be given instead of employment allowances to the youths and probe will be done in all the Government jobs given during the present Samajwadi Party regime," she said. Addressing the party workers through video-conferencing-cum-press conference on her 61st birthday here, Ms Mayawati announced that she would not go for memorials or parks in the next regime as target has been completed to construction these besides law and order would be in her priority. "Focus on the development of Poorvanchal and rechristening the names of the schemes changed by the SP Government would also be her priority,' she said. Dressed in a pink suit and a overcoat, Ms Mayawati addressed for 64 minutes with just one interruption asking the media to bear with her in her birthday. "It would be a birthday gift for me if people of three states -- UP, Uttarakhand and Punjab supports BSP, where it is contesting the elections along," she said. She also released the 12th edition of the party's 'blue book' My Struggle Ridden Life and BSP Movement both in Hindi and English. However, the main attack of the BSP supremo today was on BJP and tried to convince the people that only her party could prevent BJP in coming to power in UP in 2017 and later BSP would put the spanner in the way of Narendra Modi in 2019 Lok Sabha polls. "SP is a divided house now with a prominent caste vote will get split and thus voting for the SP-Congress- RLD alliance would only benefit the BJP. BSP's Dalit vote is intact hence the party is in a position to counter the BJP at any cost," she claimed. The BSP president was also lambasted the BJP Government at the Centre for targeting her party and family members in financial matters. "If my family members were really indulging in illegal practices then why did they not react so far?" she questioned. More UNI MB AE SNU 1501
