Jammu, Jan 23 (UNI) Ahead of Republic Day celebrations, the troops of BSF on Saturday morning recovered 150-meter long tunnel in Pansar village of Hiranagar tehsil of Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir.
Official spokesman here said that on specific intelligence inputs BSF detects another tunnel in the area of Pansar in the series of anti tunneling drive in the wee hours.
"The tunnel has been detected between BP number 14 and 15. Pakistan BOPs are Abhiyal Dogra and Kingre-de-Kothe (DistrictvSakargarh)," he said.
The spokesman said that the tunnel is approximately 150 Metres long and 30 Feet deep.
BSF troops dugged it out during their continued and persistent effort, he said.
Pertinent to mention here that BSF had shot down a Pakistani Hexacopter carrying load of weapons and ammunition in June 2020 in the same area.
BSF troops had also foiled an infiltration bid in the same area in Nov 2019 wherein BSF troops had fired upon the party trying to infiltrate into India.
The tunnel detected is the fourth in the last six months in the Samba, Hiranagar and Kathua area and the tenth overall in Jammu Region.
