British Army Chief visits Kohima

Kohima, Feb 13 (UNI) General Sir Nicholas Carter, Chief of the General Staff of British Army, accompanied by Lady Louise Anne Carter visited Kohima today.

According to a release by the PRO of Inspector General of Assam Rifles (North) informed that the British Army Chief was received by the Inspector General of Assam Rifles (North) at its Head Quarters.
A brief of the Battle of Kohima fought during the World War II was given at the Helipad with the view of the hills, where the actual battlewas fought.
The Chief of General Staff then visited the famous World War II cemetery. At the cemetery wreath laying ceremony was organized for the visiting guests under the aegis of Assam Rifles. Guard of Honour was also presented to the dignitary.
The Chief of General Staff of UK along with his lady wife went around the cemetery and paid homage to the fallen heroes, the release said.
