New Delhi, Jan 19 (UNI) Sherpas from the five BRICS countries – Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa – held their first meeting of 2022 under the chairship of China.
The meeting, held virtually on January 18-19, saw the members discuss the programmes and priorities for the year. They also thanked India for its BRICS Chairship in 2021.
The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi, said in a tweet:
“First BRICS Sherpas Meeting of 2022 held virtually on 18-19 Jan, under the Chinese Chairship.
“Discussed programme & priorities for the year.
“Members thanked India for its BRICS Chairship in 2021, and looked forward to continuity, consensus & consolidation of BRICS cooperation.”
