BPCL net profit drops 37 pc in Q3 to Rs 1,747 crore

New Delhi, Jan 30 (UNI) State-run Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) on Monday reported 36.67% year-on-year drop in consolidated net profit to Rs 1,747.01 crore for the quarter ending December, 2022.
The company had posted a profit of Rs 2,758.89 crore in the December quarter of financial year 2021-22.
On a standalone basis, the public sector oil major reported a net profit of Rs 1,959.58 in Q3 of FY22-23.
"The net profit for the third quarter of FY 22-23 was Rs 1,959.58 crore as compared to the restated profit of Rs 2,828.45 crores in the corresponding quarter of FY21-22," the company said in a statement.
During the October-December period of the current financial year, BPCL's consolidated revenue from operations zoomed 13.48% to Rs 1,33,347.51 crore as compared to Rs 1,17,497.69 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
Commenting on Q3FY23 performance, Vetsa Ramakrishna Gupta, Director (Finance) with additional charge of CMD and Director (HR) said that BPCL performed well in marketing of petroleum products registering high growth in market sales.
"Market sales has increased by 14.9% in Q3 FY23 and 17.3% in the nine months ended December 22," Gupta said.
BPCL recorded high gross refining margins during Q3 FY 23 supported by robust international cracks of petroleum products as compared to Q3 FY 22.
