New Delhi, Aug 11(UNI) A timely action by the Border Security Force (BSF), Jammu and Kashmir Police and civilian on Monday rescued a drowning boy Sahil Ahmad Sheikh who was taking a bath in Jhelum river near the Poshwan colony at Gantamulla in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement issued by the BSF on Tuesday, a road patrolling party consisting of J&K Police and BSF personnel saw a boy was trapped in the Jhelum, a local Sarpanch Fayaz Ahmad Pandith and BSF constable immediately jumped in to the river to save the boy while the police personnel rushed to the barrage gate at Gantamulla to close the gate to reduce the high flow of water.
It was a joint action of Police, BSF, and locals who made the rescue possible, the border guarding Force said while the local Sarpanch Fayaz Ahmad Pandith, added that he was highly thankful to the authorities especially our police and security who always come to the rescue of people at such unfortunate times.
