New Delhi, Feb 26 (UNI) Indian boxer Deepak Kumar on Friday outclassed reigning Olympic champion Shakhobiddin Zoirov of Uzbekistan in the semi-final to storm into the finals of the 72nd Strandja Memorial Boxing Tournament in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Showing great composure in the ring, the Asian Championship silver medallist produced one the best performances of his career to clinch a thumping 4-1 win against more fancied Zoirov, who had earlier claimed the 2019 World Championship title, beating India's star Amit Panghal.
Earlier in the quarterfinals on Thursday, Deepak defeated Bulgaria's Darislav Vasilev 5-0.
