Bootlegger arrested in south Kashmir

Srinagar, Oct 7 (UNI) A bootlegger was arrested by police in south Kashmir district of Kulgam, a police spokesman said here Saturday evening.

He said acting on a specific information, police laid a special Naka at Parigam bridge in Kulgam and started checking of vehicles.

During checking, a three wheeler driver on seeing the presence of Police tried to flee from the spot.
However, police team chased him and was apprehended nearby, he said, adding during the search of
vehicle, eight bottles of illicit liquor were recovered.
The driver who was identified as Tawseef Ahmad Zargar son of Gulzar Ahmad resident of Tarigam was arrested.
An FIR under Section 48 Excise Act was registered in Police Station Yaripora and investigation was taken up.
