Bommai pays tributes to Gen Rawat, lauds his strong stance against China during Galwan standoff

Bengaluru, Dec 9 (UNI) Apart from lauding CDS General Bipin Rawat for his strong posture against China during Galwan standoff, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Thursday said the departed General was also a strong votary for Atma Nirbhar in defence production.
"Gen Rawat had shown an unprecedented tough stand on many issues related to India's security. His strong posture against China during the recent border stand-off had compelled Chinese troops to retreat. The nation needed his leadership for the years ahead too," he told reporters here.
Bommai said General Rawat was a strong votary for Atma Nirbhar in defence production and was instrumental in starting indigenous production of many arms and equipment within the country.
