Bombay HC allows demolition of building once housed by Dawood Ibrahim

Mumbai, Dec 12 (UNI) The Bombay High Court has allowed the demolition of Haji Ismail Haji Habib Musafirkhana, a building in Pakmodia street area of south Mumbai, where gangster Dawood Ibrahim once lived.
The Division bench of Justices S C Dhamadhikari and R I Chagla on Wednesday dismissed the petition that challenged the sale of the structure to the Saifee Burhani Upliftment Trust (SBUT) in 2015. SBUT is engaged in redevelopment of the area.
The High Court held that the decision of the Charity Commissioner to allow the sale of the property to SBUT for Rs 1.1 crore was valid as the building was dilapidated and the trustees did not have the resources to repair it. The Charity Commissioner, HC held, safeguarded the interests of the tenants.

Pune, April 25 (UNI) Day temperatures were markedly above normal(5.1°C or more) at many places over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim; at isolated places over Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal and Assam and Meghalaya; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at isolated places over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh and Jharkhand; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalaseema, south interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal and Kerala and Mahe; at isolated places over east Uttar Pradesh, Odisha and Telangana. These were below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at isolated places over Vidarbha and east Madhya Pradesh and near normal over rest parts of the country. Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 43.7°C was reported at Anantapur
(Rayalaseema) over the country.
