Boiler blast: NTPC Unchahar plant license cancelled

Raebareli, Nov 14 (UNI) Due to irregularities in National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) Unchahar plant, the license of its boiler was cancelled on Tuesday.
In its report to labour commissioner, boiler director R K Purve said that there were irregularities in plant which lead to boiler blast. He said that initial investigations point negligence of NTPC staff for accident.
Report says that there was 23 meter high heap of ash near boiler which obstructed the pipes and lead to blast in it. Boiler was running without clearing the ash pile, investigation report pointed out.
