Body of Home Guard recovered from Ganga river

Katihar, Sep 18 (UNI) Police recovered the body of a Home Guard from Ganga river near Ghuski village under Barari police station area in the district today.
Police said here that the body, which was floating in the river, was recovered following the receipt of information from local people. Sources said that the deceased was identified as Ram Pravesh Thakur (45).
Police said prima facie it appeared that the Home Guard was first badly beaten and later strangulated to death by outlaws before throwing him into the Ganga river. The deceased Home Guard was posted at Naugachhia in Bhagalpur district and was going to resume his duty last evening. The motive behind murder was not immediately known, sources added.
