Kottayam, Jun 24 (UNI) The body of a young ardent Argentina football fan, Dinu Alex (30) was recovered from a lake in Kottayam, two days after he went missing soon after his favourite team's shocking loss in the ongoing FIFA World Cup being held in Russia.
Dinu Alex had walked out of his house at Arumanoor after writing a suicide note. He was apparently shattered by Argentina's crushing defeat against Croatia in the World Cup. He was reported missing by his father since 1700 hrs on Friday last. His suicide note' stated that he was leaving his house because he could not bear Argentina's defeat.
Fire force personnel had searched the length and breadth of the Meenachil river that flows near his house. Due to adverse weather, search operations were discontinued and resumed after the weather improved.
The body was finally found at Illickal bridge in Kottayam Lake, 20-km away from his house, at 0830 hrs on Sunday.
According to his relatives, Dinu showed suicidal tendency from his early age. He went missing for a few days when he failed in degree examination. He only returned home after passing the exam.
