Bodies of mother,son found in deep valley in Nashik

Nashik, Nov 24 (UNI) Bodies of a 40-year-old woman and her 11-year-old son were found on Thursday in a deep valley at the pilgrimage site of Saptashringigad in Kalwan taluka of the district.
The deceased has been identified as Archna Ahir and Jai Ahir,residents of Shivaji Nagar,Vagdi Road in Manmad.
According to Kalwan Police,the bodies were found by a devotee in a 150 feet deep valley called 'saticha kada'.
After receiving the news of the incident,the police reached the spot and tried to remove the bodies from the said place.
Due to the darkness of night, the attempts of removing the bodies from the valley went in vain.The bodies could be removed next day with the help of local villagers.
A case has been registered with the Kalwan Police Station and investigations are underway to ascertain whether the mother-son committed suicide or were murdered.

Goa Governor writes to CM urging appropriate austerity measures in state

Panaji, Jun 5 (UNI) Goa Governor Satya Pal Malik has written to the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant requesting him to adopt appropriate austerity measures in the state economy and reduce the wasteful expenditure so that more resources are made available for battling COVID 19 and bringing the economy back on the track.
In a letter, the Governor has said that the spread of pandemic COVID-19 had thrown various challenges before the state which were never faced before.
"The pandemic has dented the economy severely. In the prevailing scenario, it becomes imperative for the state to bring in greater economy in the expenses and set an example. The need of the hour is to make available greater resources towards COVID – 19 relief measures and for reviving economy," he said.
