Blood donation is best way of serving mankind: Dr Harsh Vardhan

New Delhi, Aug 14 (UNI) Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Harsh Vardhan on Friday said that in view of Covid-19 pandemic and restrictions due to lock-down and apprehension about hospital environment, there had been a significant decline in number of voluntary donations and blood donation camps.
He was speaking after inaugurating a voluntary blood donation campaign organised by AIIMS on the eve of Independence Day, dedicated to both soldiers as well as Covid warriors who lost their life while safeguarding the country and its citizens.
Highlighting the importance of voluntary blood donation, he said "Blood is required for emergency surgeries, blood disorders like thalassemia, blood cancers and road traffic accidents and trauma cases.
