Panaji, Sep 20 (UNI) Former Maharashtra Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Goa election in-charge Devendra Fadnavis on Monday exuded confidence that the party would win the next assembly elections with a comfortable majority.
Addressing a press conference in the city, he said the party was confident of winning the elections due to the development works undertaken by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant with the support of the Centre under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
On the question of alliance with any of the parties in the state, he said the decision on alliance would be taken by the parliamentary board of the party and he was just the in-charge of the elections.
He said the election would be fought under the leadership of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and post elections further decisions would be taken by the parliamentary board.
He said the BJP would miss the presence of former defence minister and chief minister Manohar Parrikar, who passed away in 2019. However, he added that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had ably handled the state administration after Parrikar's demise.
Mr Fadnavis is in Goa along with Union Ministers G Kishan Reddy and Darshana Jardosh, co-in-charges for the assembly polls in Goa. He is holding a series of meetings to decide the strategy for the elections which are likely to be held next year.
