BJP sweeps Arunachal Pradesh

Itanagar, May 24 (UNI) Stage is all set for the formation of BJP government in Arunachal Pradesh with party winning 35 seats and leading in two others in the 60-member Assembly house.
With this, the saffron brigade won 38 seats, as it has won three seats uncontested.
As per the trends made available by the Election Commission, BJP is leading in two Assembly seats.
BJP candidate and Chief Minister Pema Khandu won from Mukto assembly seat. He won by a margin of 2,619 votes by defeating Congress’ Thupten Kunphen while BJP nominee and deputy chief minister Chowna Mein won from Chowkham Assembly seat by a margin of 7,291 votes by defeating his rival Congress candidate Khunang Kri.
BJP nominee Goruk Pordung won from Bameng Assembly constituency by a margin of 393 votes. He defeated National People’s Party (NPP) candidate and former Home Minister Kumar Waii.
Congress could not even touch the double digit figure so far. The party has won only four seats.
Former chief minister Nabam Tuki won from Sagalee Assembly seat by 1,321 votes, Ninong Ering from Pasighat West by 571 votes, Wanglin Lowangdong from Borduria Bogapani seat by 97 votes and Lombo Tayeng from Mebo by 372 votes.
Arunachal Pradesh Congress unit president Takam Sanjoy tasted defeat at the hands of BJP nominee Jummum Ete Deori. The BJP candidate won the seat by a margin of 5493 votes.
Janta Dal (United), a constituent member of the BJP led NDA, has bagged seven seats.
Techi Kaso from JD(U) , won Itanagar Assembly constituency by a margin of 302 votes by defeating BJP nominee Kipa Babu.
NPP has won four Assembly seats including Khonsa West. Its candidate and sitting MLA from the Khonsa West Assembly seat Tirong Aboh, who was killed in an ambush by underground militants, won the seat.
The NPP nominee won the seat by a margin of 1055 votes defeating BJP candidate Phawang Lowang.
Eleven persons, including the NPP MLA and his son, were killed in an ambush by underground militants on Tuesday afternoon at 12 Mile , 20 kms before Khonsa under Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh.
While Mutchu Mithi won from Roing by defeating his rival BJP candidate Laeta Umbrey by 400 votes .
People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA), the only regional party of the state, has won in one assembly seats. Kardo Nyigyor has won from Likabali by a margin of 178 votes .
Two Independent candidates have won from two assembly seats including Somlung Mossang , who won from Bordumsa Diyun Assembly seat by a margin of 2379 votes by defeating BJP’s Jawra Maio.
BJP had bagged 11 seats, Congress 42, PPA five and Independent two in 2014 Assembly polls.
In the two Lok Sabha seats of the State, the saffron brigade has registered victory in East Parliamentary seat and is set to win the West parliamentary seat also.
In West seat, Union Minister of State (MoS) for Home Affairs and BJP nominee Kiren Rijiju is leading by a margin of 167801 votes, followed by Congress candidate Nabam Tuki, the trends showed.
In 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Mr Rijiju had won from the West seat by 41738 votes, defeating Congress’ Takam Sanjoy.
BJP nominee Tapir Gao won from the East Parliamentary seat. He won by a margin of 69948 votes defeating Congress candidate Lowangcha Wanglat.
In 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Ninong Ering from Congress had won the East seat by 12478 votes.
