New Delhi, Mar 14 (UNI) For the second consecutive day, BJP on Thursday linked Rahul Gandhi to a land deal with a arms dealer and said this had Congress president speak against Rafale.
'I say with all degree of earnestness that the whole Congress campaign against Rafale is not a reasonable campaign but a malafide one,' BJP leader and Union leader Ravi Shankar Prasad told reporters here.
He said it was an 'extraneous' campaign based on fiction and lies.
Speaking a day after his party colleague Smriti Irani slammed Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra, Mr Prasad said all these were done 'because arms dealer Sanjay Bhandari was a conduit for Eurofighter'.
The minister said it has also come to light that arms dealer Sanjay Bhandari tried to get benefit from offset work from Rafale but he did not succeed.
Referring to Congress response on Wednesday that the land was purchased by Rahul Gandhi and gifted to Priyanka Vadra, he said 'purchasing land is not a fault but from whom you are purchasing is important'.
'Rahul Gandhi is standing firmly behind Robert Vadra in all land deals,' he said, adding that while there has been relation between Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Vadra and Robert Vadra, on the other plain, Sanjay Bhandari linked with two other associates.
'These lead to impropriety to abuse of power and corruption', he said.
Mr Prasad also questioned the manner a plot of land purchased with Rs 15 lakh by Priyanka Vadra, was sold at high price over Rs 84 lakh in over three years.
