BJP State president condemns CM’s comments against Venkaiah Naidu

Vijayawada, Nov 11 (UNI) BJP state president Kanna Lakshminarayana took strong exception to the comments made by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy against Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu for speaking against the state government's bid to convert all government schools into English medium from the next academic year.
“I vehemently condemn the remarks of AP Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy against the Vice President. It does not suit a Chief Minister to speak like that,” the BJP president said while speaking to media during a press meet toady.
The BJP state president demanded the Chief Minister to 'tender an apology' for his remarks against the Vice-president.
Mr Lakshminarayana reminded that when the erstwhile TDP government led by Chandrababu Naidu initiated to introduce English medium in all government schools, Jagan Reddy who was the leader of the Opposition then, objected vehemently.
The BJP is opposing making medium of instruction in English mandatory. The Telugu people fought for several years to get ‘Classical status to Telugu’, he said, adding that the BJP is not against to any language.
The BJP president asked the state government to introduce English medium while continueing the Telugu medium in the government schools.
