BJP slams Bengaluru’s tunnel project as 'loot of public money’

Bengaluru, Nov 13 (UNI) The controversy surrounding Bengaluru’s ambitious tunnel road project deepened on Thursday as BJP MP PC Mohan launched a blistering attack on the Congress-led Karnataka government, alleging that the proposal is an “unscientific, wasteful, and corrupt venture designed to loot public money under the guise of urban development.”
Addressing a press conference, Mohan said it was ironic that the state government, which claims to lack funds to repair Bengaluru’s pothole-ridden roads, is “recklessly rushing ahead” to construct two underground tunnel roads costing thousands of crores. “This is not infrastructure development. This is extravagance masquerading as progress,” he said.
Mohan alleged that the project has been cleared without any scientific study or technical justification.
