BJP-Shiv Sena set to form govt in Maha after Diwali

Mumbai, Oct 25 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party-Shiv Sena alliance, which secured 161 seats of total 288 in Maharashtra Assembly, will shortly form the government in the state after Diwali festival for a second consecutive term.
The BJP won 105 seats and ally Shiv Sena bagged 56 seats, crossing the half-way mark of 144 seats, as per the final figures of the results of 288 constituencies released by the Election Commission of India (ECI) early this morning.
This time, the Opposition Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) also put up a magnificent show by winning 54 seats while ally Congress won 44.Among the smaller parties and independents, the Bahujan Vikas Aghadi won three seats, while the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, Prahar Janshakti Party and Samajwadi Party have emerged victorious on two seats each.
