BJP's Chhina blasts Mallaya for feigning 'meet' with Jaitley, defends FM's stance while flaying Cong's pointing fingers

Amritsar, Sep 13 (UNI) Senior BJP leader Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina today slammed liquor tycoon Vijay Mallya for making `factually false' statements of meeting with Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley and accused the liquor baron for misusing his privilege of being a member of the Rajya Sabha and trivializing whole facts regarding his casual pacing up with Jaitley while he was walking out of the Rajya Sabha as a `meeting'.
In a statement here, Mr Chhina said so clever is the move that now Mallya himself is backtracking from his statement is blaming the media for misrepresenting the facts. "After creating a storm with his thoughtless provocations, he (Mallya) is now blaming the media for distorting facts. This clearly and essentially confirms Mr Jaitley's version of events", he added.
Lashing out at the Congress for its remarks over the issue, he said, "The (Congress) cannot even understand the kind of honest politics practiced by people of integrity like Jaitley." He said in an attempt to stop defaulting promoters from fleeing the country, the Modi government has come out with the Fugitive Economic Offenders Bill, 2018 giving authorities powers to attach and confiscate the proceeds of crime and properties of economic offenders like bank fraudsters or loan defaulters fleeing the country aimed at quickly recovering losses.
