BJP registers independent bloc in Raigad Zilla Parishad

Kolhapur, Raigad, Feb 13 (UNI) In a surprising twist in Raigad Zilla Parishad, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) officially registered an independent group of 15 newly elected members at the District Collector’s office in Alibag. In a subsequent meeting, the party elected Vaikunth Patil (Pen) as the BJP group leader.
The move has raised the possibility of a shift in the power dynamics within the Zilla Parishad. Prior to the elections, BJP and the NCP had an alliance. However, after the results, both parties opted to register separate groups instead of a joint one, creating a new political twist.
Meanwhile, although 16 members of the Nationalist Congress Party have been elected, they have not yet registered their official group. they have yet to register their official group. The situation is further complicated as Shiv Sena (Shinde group) has also not registered its group, with reports suggesting that it is pressuring BJP and NCP to join the government. Politics in Raigad has thus intensified even before the formal formation of the Zilla Parishad government.
