BJP plays politics of divide and rule: Rahul

BJP plays politics of divide and rule: Rahul

Mhow (MP), Nov 26 (UNI) In an assurance to the people of India, erstwhile Congress president Rahul Gandhi said that the Congress will act as a bulwark against every individual and organisation that nefariously conspires to lower the sanctity of the nation’s most sacred document – the Constitution.

Addressing a massive gathering – as part of his Bharat Jodo Yatra – at Dr Bhimrao Ramji Ambdekar’s birthplace on the occasion of Constitution Day, Mr Gandhi averred, “We shall simply not allow the Constitution to perish. The BJP, which used to bow to Mahatma Gandhi’s assassin (Nathuram Vinayak) Godse, pretends to respect Mahatma Gandhi and Dr Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar while actually working against the hallowed philosophy of those two towering personages. Every faith of this country preaches absence of fear and this was taught by Bapu and other personalities as well.”

Tribal folk are the true owners of this country but they are being labelled as vanvasis (forest dwellers) even as jungles themselves are wiped out, the Congress leader alleged.

“My paternal grandmother was struck by no less than 32 bullets and my father was blown apart by an explosive device but my heart is not brimful of vengeful hatred for anyone. The BJP wishes to spread trepidation so that it can convert that into hatred, which is actually a form of fear,” Mr Gandhi said.

Lambasting the Agnipath Yojana as an unalloyed exercise in futility, he underlined the unfortunate fact that higher education is not ensuring commensurate quality of employment.

Firing a broadside against the Centre’s economic policies, Mr Gandhi said, “Small traders say Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP finished their businesses. Privatisation is aiding the BJP’s friends. Did even a single person present in this rally gain from demonetisation that was actually the brainchild of tycoons?”
