BJP meet lauds PM's diplomatic skills in dealing with Pak, China

New Delhi, Sept 25 (UNI) Within days India made blistering attack on Pakistan at UN for its role in aiding and abetting terrorism, the BJP National Executive today lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his astute diplomatic skills in exposing western neighbour and also help improve relations in the neighbourhood and enhance country's standing overseas. "Purey vishwa mein atankwad ke mudde ko prathmikta dene mein safal hue aur Pakistan ko bhi expose kia (Modi government successfully convinced the global community about terror menace and also exposed Pakistan)," Union Minister and former BJP chief Nitin Gadkari told reporters here. Briefing reporters on deliberations at the party's national executive committee and the resolution adopted at the second highest policy making body of the party, Mr Gadkari referred to recent standoff with China in Doklam sector and said the Prime Minister showed his political acumen and diplomatic skills by ensuring that the tension between the two neighbours is resolved. "He (Modi) has shown an extraordinary diplomatic acumen in resolving the tension in Doklam...PM Modi went to China and held talks with Chinese leadership," he said. Mr Gadkari also made a veiled attack on the prophets of doom and war-mongers and said, "Many people even thought war is at our doorsteps...but the government kept calm and acted firm." In the political resolution adopted at National Executive meet, the party leaders reiterated the pledge to herald a corruption-free and an India which is devoid of casteism, appeasement politics, terrorism and communalism. "The Prime Minister has given the country a dream about 'New India'.....and everyone is committed to work towards that goal," Mr Gadkari said, adding the resolution was adopted unanimously. He said under the NDA dispensation, matters concerning developmental works in Jammu and Kashmir have been addressed forthwith. "....we have zero tolerance towards terrorism," he added. To a question, Mr Gadkari said unlike what is being made out to be, the NDA government is also sincere about peace and friendship with Pakistan. "It is with this sincerity, our Prime Minister Modi went to meet Pakistan Prime Minister not bothering much about protocol." The resolution among other things lauded the party, the government and the Prime Minister for its stand on Triple Talaq issue and that would ensure enhanced dignity for Muslim women. Earlier in his presidential address, BJP chief Amit Shah lauded the government's welfare schemes. During the deliberations, Mr Modi and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley received standing ovation from delegates for government's decision on GST rollout and the demonetisation. As the National Executive in the capital coincides with birth centenary of RSS and BJP ideologue Deen Dayal Upadhayay, senior leaders said, the focus of deliberations at the meet has been to urge the party workers and leaders to work for the common man - a much cherished commitment of Deen Dayal Upadhyay himself. The party leaders maintained 'no specific roadmap' for Gujarat polls figured as the party is confident of victory. UNI DEVN SW SHK 1702
