BJP Mahila Morcha protests against police inaction against former BJP councilor

Phagwara, Oct 18 (UNI) It was a day of allegations and counter allegations by different political parties contesting by-election in Phagwara. Mrs Anita Som Parkash, wife of Union Minister of State Som Parkash, along with hundreds of the activists belonging to BJP Mahila Morcha sat on dharna on Friday before the office of the Superintendent of the Police Phagwara Manwinder Singh in protest against inaction of the police against former BJP Councillor Gurdeep Deepa who recently joined the Congress and used abusive language and derogatory remarks against Som Parkash and his wife (Anita) during a cultural event managed by the Congress in local Onkar Nagar three days back. Mrs Anita alleged that the police could not book the alleged accused Deepa.
Later dharna was lifted after the assurance of early action given by SP Manwinder Singh who himself came out from the office and reached at dharna site.
Meanwhile, Lok Insaaf Party Candidate Jarnail Nangal today alleged that the official machinery on the instructions of the government removed and torn around 1000 posters and flex boards of LIP in several parts of the assembly constituency. He said a detailed written complaint has been submitted to the concerned authorities.
