Bengaluru, Mar 8 (UNI) Bhratiya Janata Party’s Mysore-Kodagu Lok Sabha member, Pratap Simha, on Friday subjected to a court custody for brief while by a city court for defying its orders to appear personally in a defamation suit filed by the cine star and social activist Prakash Raj (Rai).
The magistrate of the People Representatives Court, remanded the BJP MP for a court’s custody, when the former had attended the court, after he and his advocate failed to respond several notices to appear before it in the defamation suit over his twitter comments against Mr Rai.
The Court had issued a non-bailable warrant against Mr Simha, in relation to a defamation suit filed by Mr Prakash Rai, who has announced to contest for the coming Lok Sabha elections from Bengaluru North parliamentary constituency had filed a defamation suit against Mr Simha for allegedly posting a defamatory remark against the cine actor, in his twitter account, recently.
