BJP leaders arrested in Punjab for carrying out Insaf yatra

Jalandhar, Oct 22 (UNI) Punjab BJP chief Ashwini Sharma, Union Minister of State Som Prakash and former Union Minister Vijay Sampla, along with several other BJP leaders, were on Thursday detained by the Jalandhar Commissionerate police for carrying out the 'Insaf yatra,' organised by the state unit of the Scheduled Castes Morcha.
Police ferried these leaders to the Circuit House in the buses, where they were released later.
During the nearly two-hour stay at the Circuit House, the BJP leaders and workers staged a dharna and shouted slogans against Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and his ministerial colleagues for the alleged embezzlement in the post matric scholarship scheme and atrocities on the Dalit community.
