BJP Govt's decision to revoke Priyanka Gandhi's security, her official residence in Delhi as 'unfortunate': Thorat

Mumbai, Jul 2 (UNI) Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee president (MPCC) and state Revenue Minister Balasaheb Thorat on Thursday described the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government's decision to revoke party leader Priyanka Gandhi's security and her official residence in Delhi as 'unfortunate'.
In an official statement, he said, "Priyanka has witnessed horrific deaths of her grandmother and former prime minister late Indira Gandhi and her father Rajiv Gandhi. Even today, when the threat to the Gandhi family has not subsided completely, the BJP government's decision to do away with her security and residence is a symbol of their cheap politics.
"Threatened by Priyanka's growing popularity, the BJP government is trying to stifle her voice, but she and the Congress party don't give importance to such actions," he said.
