BJP govt’s Data interception order worse than ‘Emergency regime’ of Indira Gandhi: Yogendra

Bengaluru, Dec 22 (UNI) The BJP-led NDA government's proposal to come out with a notification which enables tapping computers and mobile handsets by investigating agencies is a worse step than that of promulgation of emergency by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Swaraj India Chief Yogendra Yadav said.
Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, Yadav alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi seem to have received inspiration from Mrs Gandhi. ‘’Mr Modi has taken a step further and trying to impose ‘emergency plus’ on the people of India.’’
This disturbing notification providing free passage to 10 agencies to have an insight into the computer systems of various establishments including those of Journalists cannot be accepted. If this is not misuse of official machinery, what will be next. This will lead to misuse of the IT and Digital media by the Union and State governments. It should be rejected ‘outright’, Mr Yadav demanded.
