Raipur, Nov 18 (UNI) Charging the BJP government in Chhattisgarh with failing to fulfill the promises it made in the Manifesto of last elections, Congress state In-charge PL Punia on Sunday said all sections of the state, especially the farmers, will teach a lesson to BJP this time.
Issuing a charge sheet against the Raman Singh government, Mr Punia told reporters here that the incumbent government had made several promises to farmers and all other sections, but most of them remained unfulfilled.
BJP could not fulfill its promise for support price of Rs 2100 to farmers, he said.
It has become crystal clear with the conclusion of the first round of election that Dr Singh was going to lose this election, Mr Punia said, adding that Congress is now riding a 'Vijay Rath' (victory chariot). He pulled up the BJP leaders for questioning the Congress manifesto.
Mr Punia alleged that BJP leaders became frustrated after coming across reports about farmers and all sections in the state, reposing faith on Congress manifesto and standing by it. Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi stooped so low, as to falsify the Congress manifesto, he said.
According to him, those who kept making false promises and did not fulfill them, have no right to question the Congress manifesto.
He said the Congress manifesto was prepared, in consultation with one lakh people. Reposing faith on this, farmers are not selling their paddy, he added.
He also said that Ajit Jogi's Janta Congress will not affect the prospect of Congress.
'Everybody knows Jogi that he was supporting BJP, while being in Congress and he is doing so even today', he added.
