New Delhi, Dec 14 (UNI) The BJP on Friday lashed out at Congress president for his observations on the Rafale aircraft deal despite the Supreme Court orders and said Rahul Gandhi's utterances and continuous attack against Prime Minister Narendra Modi were akin to addressing election rallies.
"Was he addressing an election rally?," BJP leader and Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad told reporters here shortly after Mr Gandhi insisted that there was corruption in Rafale deal and that only a JPC probe will reveal the truth.
"We condemn Rahul Gandhi's statement here....All his comments today have been debated and argued in the court. And the court has found mistakes with all their argument," Mr Prasad said.
The Union Minister claimed that the entire process of decision making was "examined" by the apex court, he said.
"The court has said the pricing is a sensitive issue ....the entire offset clause was also scrutinised," the Minister said adding the ruling on Friday established "three facts" --- the Congress-led UPA government had only kept the matters pertaining to defence and Air Force "hanging" between 2006 to 2012.
The BJP leader cautioned that Mr Gandhi's comments on Rafale are being "appreciated" by Pakistan as well.
".....China and Pakistan have strengthened their Air Force, and they want to know about our strength as well," he maintained.
At his impromptu press conference, the Congress president said a JPC probe will conclusively prove that there is corruption in the Rafale deal.
"The Prime Minister has given the offset contract to his friend Anil Ambani," he said adding that "we will prove that Prime Minister is a friend of Anil Ambani and he helped Mr Ambani”.
