BJP flays Amarinder for criticizing Citizen Amendment Bill

Chandigarh, Dec 13 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday lashed at Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh for his statement criticizing Citizen Amendment Bill (CAB) and his announcement not to implement the bill in Congress governed state.
In a statement here, BJP national secretary Tarun Chugh said Amarinder’s statement was aimed to please the Gandhis at the cost of the sentiments of Sikhs and Hindus who were victimised, tortured, shamed and forced to live like third class citizens in the neighbouring countries.
''The Congress and its allies are once again playing the politics of vote bank,'' the BJP leader said, adding that it was highly surprising and unfortunate that Capt Amarinder Singh, who at times projects himself as champion of Sikh rights, was opposing the bill brought by Prime Minister Narendra-Modi led government to safeguard the interests of lakhs of Sikhs, Hindus, Parsis, Jainis and Bodhis who had been denied to live a life of dignity by the respective governments and the majorities in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
