BJP fights political battles through courts: Omar Abdullah

Srinagar, July 13 (UNI) Hours after the BJP served a legal notice to Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah over his allegation that the party had attempted to lure National Conference legislators with cash and ministerial berths, Omar on Monday hit back, saying the notice was a "mark of respect" and accused the BJP of preferring to fight political battles through the courts rather than politically.
Omar said he had received only an electronic copy of the legal notice and described it as a "love letter" from the BJP.
"I consider this a great honour because I am the only politician in Jammu and Kashmir who has been bestowed with a love letter like this from the BJP. I consider it a mark of respect that I am obviously a political force that they cannot ignore," he told reporters in Srinagar.
