BJP fails to reach consensus on state president

Kochi, Dec 8 (UNI) A core committee meeting of Kerala BJP here on Sunday failed to reach a consensus regarding the party's state president.
Now it is likely that the BJP central leadership would intervene in the matter and decide the state president. BJP will seek the opinion of RSS, according to the saffron party's national secretary B L Santhosh.
K Surendran, M T Ramesh and Shobha Surendran were the names that came up during the meeting here.
Kerala BJP has been without a president for over a month now. It is in this context that the party's central leadership intervened and summoned a core committee meeting.
However, as various groups stood firm on their demand, the meeting failed to reach a consensus.
The central team will visit BJP state leaders and seek their opinion. They will also seek the opinion of the RSS.
"The new president of Kerala is likely to be announced by the end of December or the beginning of January," sources said.
