BJP eyes Odisha polls: Dharmendra Pradhan thanks Rail Minister for projects

New Delhi, Sep 12 (UNI) Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Wednesday thanked Railway Minister for "prioritising railway projects in Odisha and ensuring seamless connectivity".

"Sincere gratitude to Piyush Goyal for prioritising railway projects in Odisha and ensuring seamless connectivity, greater economic efficiency and safety through complete electrification of the Nuapada-Gunupur, Khurda Road-Balangir, Tata-Badampahar & Rupsa-Bagriposi broad gauge routes," he tweeted minutes after announcement of the new projects were made by the two Ministers at a joint conference.

To ensure greater economic efficiency and seamless connectivity in Odisha, the government on Wednesday cleared projects worth Rs 427.57 crore railway projects for the eastern state where state assembly elections are due in 2019 along with the parliamentary polls.

The projects include Rs Khurda Road-Bolangir project covering 301 km for Rs 260.09 crore.

Other projects are: Rupsa Bangriposi, Nuapda Gunupur and Tatanagar-Badampahar.

A senior BJP leader later said the saffron party is keen for a fierce contest against BJD regime in Odisha and will like to ensure that a BJP leader is enthroned as the state Chief Minister.
