BJP expresses confidence in nine women, repeats 13 ministers and 48 MLAs

Patna, Oct 14 (UNI) The BJP which released its first list of candidates for Bihar assembly elections has repeated 13 ministers, including both deputy chief ministers, 48 MLAs, and expressed confidence in the leadership nine women.
The list which was finalised after brain storming exercises done in the meeting of the Central Election Committee of the BJP, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, and other members of the committee, reflects a mix of continuity and change, as the party has fielded 48 sitting MLAs while dropping several senior leaders, including Assembly Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav and former minister Amrendra Pratap Singh.
While releasing the list of 71 candidates , the party has given chance to 12.66 per cent women in the election.

High turnout in Bihar a signal of vote for change: Prashant Kishor

Patna, Nov 9 (UNI) Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor on Sunday dubbed the high voter turnout in the first phase of the Bihar assembly elections as "a strong signal of change of regime" in Bihar.
Kishor told media persons that 65.08 percent polling in the first phase of Bihar assembly elections on November 6, was a historic event in the democratic history of the state. It was a strong indication of the fact that people of Bihar had voted for "change of regime" in the state, he noted.
