Addressing mediapersons here, party spokesperson Abhishek Singhvi said the BJP is misusing Lord Ram for their political gains.
“Manthara and Kaikeyi had sent Lord Ram to exile for 14 years, but the BJP has kept Lord Ram in exile (vanavas) for the last 30 years. Ahead of every election, they bring his name and after the polls get over they will sent him exile. They are insulting the God and misusing Lord Ram for their political gains”, said the Congress leader.
Responding to a question on the remarks by Kerala BJP president PS Sreedharan Pillai that he had reportedly said that others were following the BJP agenda in the controversy over the women entry in Sabarimala, Mr Singhvi said the BJP is exploiting religion in a shameless and absolutely despicable manner.
“How to bring idols and ideals into disrepute is the name of the university, where the PhDs are given by the BJP on this subject”, Mr Singhvi said.
The Congress leader added that what Mr Pillai said is a moment of truth that, everybody in the country knows.
Responding to another question on Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, who criticised Congress’ Lok Sabha Leader Mallikarjun Kharge that he equalled the Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Hitler, Mr Singhvi said there is no need the BJP makes such noises that their guru Golwalkar has praised the then German ruler.
“I think the BJP is considering Hitler as their hero, because their guru Golwalkar praised him in his book”, Mr Singhvi added.
Taking up the BJP’s allegation that the Congress president Rahul Gandhi is visiting temples for political purposes, the party spokesperson said it was the leaders of the BJP has started temple visits just 3-4 months before the polls.
