BJP demands apology from Digvijay for remarks defaming temples, Hindu sages

Hyderabad, Sep 17 (UNI) Telangana state BJP unit on Tuesday strongly condemns the statements made by senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh against defaming temples and Hindi sages.
In a statement, BJP Chief Spokesperson K Krishna Saagar Rao said Digvijay remarks were blasphemous and insulting Hindus. There has been a consistent pattern by many Congress leaders in insulting Hindus over the years.

''We demand condemnation of this statement and unconditional apology by Congress party president Sonia Gandhi'', he further said.
''We also demand and wish to know, what action would Congress initiate on Digvijay Singh by the party president'' , he added.
Digvijaya Singh, at a press conference of saints in Bhopal, has passed an objectionable remark stating that ''rapes are happening inside temples'' and that people wearing saffron robes were ''defaming Hindu religion''.
