BJP condemns open threat statement issued by CM KCR to RTC striking employees

Hyderabad, Oct 23 (UNI) Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao is acting like CEO of a profit centric private enterprise than an elected Chief Minister of a democratically run state government, state BJP Chief spokesperson K Krishna Saagar Rao alleged here on Thursday.
In a statement while reacting over KCR's statement on RTC, Saagar Rao said it's employees reflects his neo-capitalist mindset.
BJP feels CM KCR is behaving irresponsibly, when he underplays RTC role in the public transport system in the state, he said the fact is, RTC is a welfare initiative for public transport, to connect to the remotest villages and towns in Telangana, which otherwise can't be connected by private operators due to route-passenger ratio.
It's commercially impossible for private operators to ply buses on unviable routes, he said the RTC ticket prices for poor and needy passengers, can never be matched by private operators.
Condemning the open threat issued by CM KCR to striking RTC employees that RTC will completely be shut down sooner than later, he said KCR has shirked his government's responsibility in mismanaging RTC and it's resources all these years, without even appointing a full time Managing Director or a Chairman for such a large corporation.
It's evident that KCR is only trying to take full advantage of this strike and completely sellout the public transport system in Telangana State to his pet private enterprises, at the cost of poor and needy passengers and 50,000 RTC employees.
Motor Vehicle Amendment Act of 2019 nowhere says, shutdown existing RTC corporations and dismiss 50,000 employees arbitrarily. It only suggests partial privatisation options to further competition in the public transportation system. CM KCR is misleading the people of Telangana, as always, he also alleged.
BJP demanded that CM KCR should release a white paper on the financials of RTC for the last 5 years and the details of the payments he is quoting that his government has made to RTC, said Saagar Rao.
BJP feels, CM KCR has no credibility left to be simply believed on his press conference statements, he added.
