New Delhi, Jul 14 (UNI) BJP on Sunday condemned the Congress for blaming it over resignations taking place in the party, the latest being of Punjab Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu, and said it was their 'internal matter'.
"This is an internal matter of Congress. Navjot Singh Sidhu has said many controversial things in the past year - like doubting the Balakot airstrike, saying trees were destroyed in Balakot. Was this not an insult to the Indian Army,' BJP leader Nalin Kohli told a TV channel.
He said Mr Sidhu was praising Pakistan and hugging their Army officials. 'If he has resigned, the reason must be known to the Congress party. BJP has continuously questioned the intent behind his controversial questions," the saffron outfit leader said.
Union Minister Parkash Javadekar said Congress president Rahul Gandhi himself triggered the trend of resignations with his own resignation
Earlier in the day, Mr Sidhu resigned as minister from the Punjab cabinet. He took to Twitter and posted his resignation letter dated June 10 and addressed to Mr Gandhi.
'In Congress, Rahul Gandhi himself resigned and told others to do so, So party officials were resigning and ministers are resigning,' Mr Javadekar said.
For last many days, there has been no in charge of the party, he said.
'Now they are blaming BJP for this also, which is unusual. I feel Congress should do self analysis. If one indulges in family politics, such a situation takes place. They have lost the connection with the people," he added.
