BJD in Odisha in neck-deep corruption-Nadda

Bhubaneswar, Sep 29 (UNI) Accusing the ruling BJD in Odisha of being neck deep in corruption, BJP National President J P Nadda on Thursday urged the people to throw away the corrupt BJD government and bring BJP to power to ensure the development of state.

Nadda who arrived here on Thursday on a two-day visit to the state in a bid to strengthen the party organisation called upon the party workers to reach out to the people, and apprise them about the need for a double engine government in Odisha for the development of the state and to vote BJP to power.

Addressing the panchayat level party workers at Janata maidan, the BJP President said there is total misrule in Odisha and alleged that crores of rupees given by the BJP government at the centre for undertaking various developmental works in the state are being misappropriated.

Nadda said though huge financial assistance is given by the central government the health care service in Odisha is lagging far behind. About 50 lakh Odia people are deprived of the Ayushman Bharat scheme due to the apathetic attitude of the BJD government.

Ambulance service is not available for the needy and people are seen carrying the body of their kin on bicycles and women are delivering on the sides of the road.

Funds provided under the MGNREGA scheme are being misappropriated by submitting forged bills, he said adding in tribal areas funds under the Jal Jiban Mission are also being misappropriated.

The BJP President accused the BJD government of hijacking the central government scheme. Prime Minister Awas Yojana is being named as Biju Pucca Ghar Yojana in the state, he alleged.

He said the Ratna Bhandar, the treasury of the Sri Jagannath temple is not safe. First, the government said the key to Ratna bhandar is missing then a duplicate key was found.

“When the government is duplicated, how could the key be original”, he said sarcastically.

Nadda said there is total misrule in the state as three of the Ministers were murder accused.

He described the BJP as the largest cadre-based party in the world with a mass following and has governance in maximum states in the country. It is a national party with regional aspirations and an ideology.

But in all other states including Odisha “Paribarbad”( dynasty politics) is going on. In Odisha also it is one man party Biju Party, he remarked.

The BJP, he said, is fighting “Paribarbad” in all states including Bihar, Punjab, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, Telangana and Odisha.

Taking a dig at the Indian National Congress, he said there is neither Bhartiya nor India in it. The Congress, he said, is a brother-sister party. Everything will be done at the party at the mercy of the
brother-sister duo and the party workers will be left to beat the thali ( plate) only.

Earlier in the morning, Nadda was given a rousing welcome on his arrival at the Biju Patnaik International Airport. He was taken on a massive bike rally procession from the Airport to the state Party headquarters amidst folk dances organized by the party all along the route.
