Bihar targets for one lakh Covid 19 testing per day : Nitish

Pàtna, Aug 11 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said the target has been fixed for one lakh testing per day for detection of Covid 19 cases in the state, saying high population density had posed more challenges in handling the Corona pandemic.
Mr Kumar while addressing a meeting of Chief Ministers of ten states with Prime Minister Narendra Modi through video conferencing on measures required to be taken to check spread of Conoravirus infections, said that a target of one lakh testing per day had been fixed in Bihar to detect Covid 19 cases as state government was in favour of more and more testings to cover almost all vulnerable persons so that they could be isolated for treatment to check spread of Conoravirus infection. As per latest available figure with him, the total number of Corona positive cases in Bihar was 82,741 and 28,151 of them were active cases, he added.
The Chief Minister said that 54,139 Corona positive patients had recovered after treatment and returned to their homes. Altogether 450 people had died so far after getting infected with Covid-19. In view of the recent increase in Covid 19 cases in Bihar, a number of measures had been taken to check the spread of Coronavirus infections in the state, he added.
