Bihar: Rs 57L fine collected from 7K TL passengers in one day

Samastipur (Bihar), May 29 (UNI) A record 7,000 train passengers travelling without tickets were nabbed during a day-long ticket checking exercise at various railway stations under Samastipur division of East Central Railways, and a fine of Rs 57.06 lakh was recovered from them.

The Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Samastipur, Vinay Srivastav, said here on Wednesday a special ticket checking drive was launched on Tuesday, which continued from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. A total of 7,000 passengers travelling without a ticket were nabbed, and a fine of Rs 57.06 lakh was recovered from them, he added.
