Patna, Mar 04 (UNI) Reiterating government's commitment for supplying tap water in every household in urban areas, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tar Kishore Prasad today said that the scheme would be completed within the stipulated time frame.
While replying to a short noticed question of BJP member Sanjay Saraogi in the state assembly, the Deputy Chief Minister Tar Kishore Prasad who is also holding the portfolio of Urban Development Department said that 65% of the fixed target under the scheme has been finished.
He said that 10 lakh 26 thousand 777 houses were covered under the scheme by January 31 2021 against the target of covering 15 lakh 85 thousand 400 houses.
Giving details of the district wise progress in the scheme he said that 53% work was finished in Muzaffarpur district, 25% in Munger, 50% in Purnia ,36% in Katihar and 95% work was complete in Darbhanga district.
Mr Prasad said that the schemes were regularly being monitored and maintained that some technical obstructions were there due to covid-19.He assured to complete the work within the stipulated period.
Replying to another question of of RJD member Bhai Virendra Mr Prasad said that 8 schemes of sewerage network of 1150.94 km were being executed under Namami Gange project in Patna.
He said that under this project, underground pipeline had been laid for 507.90 km and the roads were also restored.
Giving details of the achievements of the project, the Minister said that the responsibility for restoration of roads have been entrusted upon road construction department and assured the project would be completed within the time frame.
Replying to another question of RJD member Vijay Kumar Singh alias Dabloo Singh, Mr Prasad said that Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (BUIDCO) has sanctioned Rs 35 crore 63 lakh form smooth traffic in Patna.
