Bihar floods: Amitabh donates Rs 51 lakh to CM's relief fund

New Delhi, Oct 9 (UNI) Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has donated Rs 51 lakh to Bihar Chief Minister's Relief Fund, as the state is currently facing the flood-like situation.

Amitabh wrote a letter to CM Nitish Kumar, saying, "Indeed I am deeply stricken by the natural calamity that has hit the state of Bihar. My deepest condolences and sympathies to all whose lives have been affected in the recent flood."

"Albeit in a small way, I extend my helping hand to ensure in the restoration of the human life in Bihar,' the letter read.

The flood situation continues to remain grim in Bihar as 14 districts of the state are facing the brunt of nature fury claiming lives of 73 people so far.

More than 1.8 million people living in 1179 villages in Patna, Bhojpur, Bhagalpur, Nawada, Nalanda, Khagaria, Samastipur, Lakhisarai, Begusarai, Munger, Buxar, Katihar, Jehanabad and Arwal districts are hit by flood.
